Congratulations for President of the Republic of Poland

Congratulations and wishes of success to Mr. President Bronis�aw Komorowski. In our opinion the success will be introduction of Poland to the circle of modern States with the information society who develops and uses in full the benefits of the digital information and communication technologies. This makes a difficult task but still matching achievements of your predecessors who made Poland access European Union and NATO.
According to election declarations we expect of you, Mr. President, the activities targeted at:

Establishment of the new office for information and communication technology performing leading role in development of the information society and knowledge-based economy.
Educational activities concerning rights of authors and intellectual property.
IT education of youth where all students are offered teaching of information technology while materials and curricula for the best gifted of them are prepared centrally.
Development of the Polish ICT industry leading to promotion of the Polish brand on the world markets.
Development of such an Internet that offers individual freedom and anonymity of statements while the State is equipped with mechanisms which facilitate prosecuting of those who violate the law in effect.
Development of the modern digital administration that should generally implement the strategy concerning calculation of the total costs of the system maintenance (including wage costs) and order the IT services at external suppliers in every economically justified case, the unique solutions including.
Patronage over project „Access to the broadband Internet in regions threatened with the digital exclusion"

We congratulate Mr. Jaros�aw Kaczy�ski on the achieved result, believing that also his declarations concerning use of the information and communication technology for the good of the society and economy will be implemented in political activities of Prawo i Sprawiedliwo��.

Meeting of the Chamber Council

Consecutive meeting of the Council was held on June 30, 2010 in Sofitel Victoria Hotel in Warsaw.
Debates of the Council were chaired by Pawe� Czajkowski, its Chairman, and Wojciech Dylewski, its Vice Chairman.
Guests of the Council were: Piotr Ko�odziejczyk – Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Interior and Administration, responsible for computerization, and W�odzimierz Marci�ski Director of the Information Society Department in the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
Representatives of the new Firms acceding PIIT, and invited representatives of the Firms – Members of the Chamber also participated in the meeting.
President of the Chamber and Chairman of the Council handed over the Membership Certificates to the newly admitted Firms:

ECTA Report - Polemic

Organization of alternative operators, ECTA, published in Brussels the Telecommuncation Market Analysis Report concerning European Union countries. The Report served as the ground for publication in Rzeczpospolita negatively describing progress of regulation of the telecommunication market in Poland and the high prices charged for access to Internet. It is a pity that such a reputable organization like ECTA presents Report with some data of 2008.
The Chamber reviewed said Report indicating gaps in its being up-to-date and in some conclusions. We encourage reading of the polemic.

Wac�aw Iszkowski in ISTAG

We inform that Wac�aw Iszkowski, President of PIIT was appointed to the Information and Communication Technologies Advisory Group (ISTAG) in operation at the European Commission. Activities of said Group are targeted at elaboration of directions and development rules for research and innovation in the European information communication technology for the next 10 years, to be implemented in the line of the Framework Programme.

DIGITALEUROPE - elections to Executive Board

We are satisfied to inform that Vice President of PIIT, Jacek �egiewicz, was elected to Executive Board of DIGITALEUROPE. This election was made possible by agreement reached by and between PIIT and KIGEiT on representation of the Polish business organizations in DIGITALEUROPE during next four years.

The same General Assembly Meeting reelected Errki Ormala as President of Executive Board DIGITALEUROPE. Congratulations to Mr. President, and at the same time we wish Mr. ��giewicz, our organizations and members the positive effects of their direct involvement in works of DIGITALEUROPE that represents interests of electronic equipment manufacturing companies and the IT ones at the European Union forum.

Special guest of the General Assembly Meeting was Ms. Nelli Kroes, Vice President of European Commission for Digital Agenda.

Ranking Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in Central Europe

Deloitte advisory company started eleventh edition of its ranking Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in Central Europe – annual ranking of the technological companies in the region which feature the fastest development.

The purpose of the program is drawing attention to the fastest-development firms in operation in the TMT (Technologies, Media, Telecommunication) in the sector. This ranking is organized independently in 17 countries (apart from USA) and in Central Europe. In our region firms from Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lithuania participate in the ranking.
